VidantaWorld has confirmed that the BON Luxury Theme Park will open on 1 December 2026 in Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit — making it the largest new entertainment destination to launch in Mexico’s Pacific Coast this decade.
Phase 1 of the development includes the BON Hotel, a resort-area promenade, and early access to the park’s main entertainment zones. A preview for resort guests opens on 24 October 2026, six weeks before the public date.
What BON Stands For — and What It Offers
BON stands for “Beauty of Nature” — a theme that runs through the park’s architecture, landscaping, and attraction design. Unlike the cenote-and-jungle framing of the Riviera Maya’s parks, BON is positioned as an upscale, resort-integrated experience from the outset.
Phase 1 features:
- 23 attractions across themed zones
- 25 restaurants and food outlets
- 5 roller coasters, spanning family to thrill-ride categories
- A dedicated children’s area and live entertainment programming
The most significant addition arrives on 16 December 2026: Cirque du Soleil LUDO, a permanent show debuting in a purpose-built $200 million theatre. LUDO is Cirque du Soleil’s first permanent Mexico residency outside of a hotel ballroom format, and the theatre’s scale is designed for full-scale arena production.
First Year: Resort Guests Only
For the initial operating year — running roughly through December 2027 — the park is accessible exclusively to guests staying at VidantaWorld’s resort properties. This is a deliberate positioning choice: VidantaWorld is marketing BON as an integrated resort experience rather than a day-trip destination.
That policy is scheduled to change in late 2027 when external day-ticket sales open, along with the launch of Phase 2 of the park.
Getting There
Nuevo Vallarta sits approximately 20 km north of Puerto Vallarta’s city centre and is served by Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR). Transfer time from the airport to VidantaWorld is around 25–35 minutes depending on traffic.
Puerto Vallarta is the natural base for exploring this stretch of coastline. The Riviera Nayarit — the broader coastal zone from Nuevo Vallarta north toward Punta Mita — has grown steadily as a resort corridor over the past decade. BON is the most significant single investment in the region since Punta Mita opened to boutique hotel development in the early 2000s.
What It Means for Visitors
For travellers already planning a Pacific Coast adventure in Mexico, BON adds a resort-anchored entertainment option that previously did not exist west of the Yucatán. The December opening aligns with peak season for the Pacific Coast, when the rainy season has ended and sea temperatures remain warm.
Pricing for Phase 1 operates within VidantaWorld resort packages — standalone park tickets are not available until 2027. For travellers planning ahead, December 2026 and the 2026–27 season represent the only window to experience BON exclusively as a resort-only environment before it opens to the general public. While BON is resort-only for now, Puerto Vallarta tours and activities — whale watching in Banderas Bay, tequila distillery visits, and the Sierra Madre zip-lines — are all bookable today for anyone already planning a stay in the Nayarit corridor.
