Xplor is the most physical park in the Experiencias Xcaret group - and the most unusual. There is no cultural show, no marine conservation area, and no folklore. This park is built around one idea: getting underground. Ziplines, amphibious vehicles that drop into cenote water, and open-ended cave rafting through stalactite-lit caverns that glow in the dark. If you want to sit in a hammock, this is not your park. If you want to paddle through an underground cave in near-darkness, this is exactly your park.

The Two Circuits
Xplor runs all visitors through two circuits - A and B - designed so guests do the same activities in opposite order. This keeps queues manageable and means you and another group are rarely waiting for the same activity at the same time.
Each circuit takes approximately three hours. Most visitors complete both, making for a six-hour day in the park. Lunch is included and available mid-day.
Ziplines
Xplorβs zipline run stretches over 1 km across the jungle canopy in multiple segments. You are suspended above the tree line in some sections and cutting through the jungle in others. The longest continuous run carries you for approximately 150 metres over open ground. All equipment is provided - helmet, harness, gloves - and guides manage safety at each platform.
No prior experience needed. There are no age restrictions on the ziplines provided you meet the height requirement (approximately 1 metre / 3 ft 3 in).
Amphibious Vehicles
This is the activity that most visitors remember longest. The vehicles look like small 4x4s - open-topped, seat two - and they drive along jungle dirt tracks through the park grounds. At certain points, the track drops directly into water: the vehicle floats, and you continue the circuit paddling through underground cave systems.
The caves you drive through are genuine cenote cave systems, not constructed tunnels. Stalactites hang from the ceiling, the water is clear blue-green, and some sections run in near-darkness. The transition between jungle track and underground cave happens multiple times on each circuit.
Underground Cave Rafting
Separate from the amphibious vehicles, Xplor has a dedicated raft section where you paddle inflatable tubes through interconnected underground caverns. This section is the darkest experience in the park - some passages are lit only by bioluminescence on the cave walls, and in certain stretches you can only see the ceiling stalactites and the faint glow of the water.
The rafts hold two people and move slowly. You do not need any paddling experience - the caves are calm, the water is flat, and guides are stationed throughout.
Swimming Underground
Parts of the underground river system are swimmable outside of the raft section. In some cave passages, you exit the raft and swim through narrow limestone corridors with natural air pockets. Optional, but worth doing - the cave swimming is the most intimate of all the experiences.
Xplor Fuego (Night Version)
Thursday and Saturday evenings, Xplor runs a separate night programme. The same activities - ziplines, amphibious vehicles, cave rafting - but with torches lining the jungle tracks, fire effects at certain points, and bioluminescent highlights in the caves that are invisible during daylight.
Xplor Fuego costs approximately the same as the daytime version and runs from approximately 17:00 to 23:00. If your visit falls on a Thursday or Saturday, this is a genuinely different event rather than a novelty version of the same thing.

Who Xplor Is For
Xplor suits active visitors who do not want to spend a day sitting still. The typical Xplor guest: teenagers, active couples looking for something different from beach days, adults who came specifically for cenote experiences, and anyone who finds theme parks too passive. The activity level is high throughout.
Not suited for: very young children, visitors with mobility restrictions, those who want a relaxing beach-club style day. For those visitors, Xel-HΓ‘ is a better fit.
